The dot projector is part of the Face ID authentication system and can fail after the slightest of drops. Typically, you will get Face ID problems of "move higher or move lower" and you will not be able to record a face. We can transfer the encryption information on to a new flex and align this perfectly with the lens to restore full Face ID functionality. A good way to diagnose this is by taking a selfie in portrait mode. If you cannot focus on your face with the background blurred, it is most likely a dot projector issue.
